There are many ecological problems nowadays and that is because the world becomes more and more civilized it is polluted more and more. At this rate of increasing pollution our planet may become inhospitable to live in. Humans have inhabited the planet Earth for millions of years. There are many ecological problems nowadays and that is because the world becomes more and more civilized it is polluted more and more. At this rate of increasing pollution our planet may become inhospitable to live in. Humans have inhabited the planet Earth for millions of years. However, only in the past 1,000 years we caused terrible harm to Earth’s fragile ecosystem. Each generation finds new comfort in convenient packaging, easy-to-use spray cans, and cars that go faster. But the more comfortable our lifestyles get, the more damage we do to our surrounding environment. The 21 first century became the most dangerous and harmful century ever and the mankind edges to overkill.
Pollution is the one of the ecological problems and one of the important issues nowadays. Pollution occurs in many ways. The pollution of the environment is largely caused by water, air or soil pollution. In fact, water and air are the fundamental media in which life exists. Water covers nearly 70 per cent of the earth’s surface. When water is contaminated by any foreign matter-natural or artificial-it causes deleterious effects either due to their toxic nature or reduction of normal oxygen level, or aesthetically. Oils, greases, toxic compounds like cyanides, chromium, ammonia, arsenic, etc. pollute the water. Polluted water is responsible for many water-borne diseases like cholera, jaundice, typhoid, dermatitis, etc. More than 80 per cent of Indians suffer from water-borne diseases. Nearly 16 per cent of patients affected by these diseases are estimated to die annually. The rivers are polluted by the effluents from the factories on their banks. The highly poisonous effluents and drainage water mix with the rivers and make them polluted. Air pollution is the most dangerous form of pollution. It results form gaseous emission from industry, thermal power stations, domestic combustion etc. Due to air pollution, the composition of air is changing all over the world. Most of the gases and air pollutants are produced by burning fuels. Burning of coal produces carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide etc. which are responsible for acid rain. The emission of various kinds of gases in the air by the chemical factories is another kind of pollution. The gases mix with the air and when people who reside near the factories breathe them they develop chest diseases. The textile mills, the chemical factories and various types of vehicles emit into the air fumes of sculpture and some acids. Fossil-fuel based industries pollute the atmosphere. The environmentalists say that the air of the cities is highly polluted. Loud noises also pollute the air and affect our ear drums. The noise caused by the blaring television sets, the radios, the aeroplanes and the helicopters are also a kind of pollution of the air.
But in responsible for all these problems are people themselves, who didn’t pay attention what happens with the environment while we just spend all minerals and resources. That’s our biggest mistake that we ever make. By the way we still have chance to solve these problems. There many ways to do it. One of them is recycle and reuse that can help to not have many garbage that cause pollution. Many products are recyclable, and thus reduce environmental strain. Even electronics, such as computers and cell phones, are recyclable. A good way to minimize waste and carbon dioxide output while creating healthy organic fertilizer is to compost plant waste. Whether you buy it or make it, putting the plant waste from your kitchen, like carrot ends or the outer leaves of cabbage or lettuce heads, along with coffee grounds and grass clippings, into a compost bin creates an excellent fertilizer while preventing these items from clogging landfills.
So let’s make our world better and cleaner, because we live here and we only once who can solve these problems. Our earth is our home and the only way to protect it to change themselves and to pay attention on these serious problems like pollution. We should think about our future because we leave this world for our children…
