Is it effective communication?

For understanding the problem and answering on the question, first of all we should understand what an effective communication process is, and how we can use this term in our situation. As we know the communication process plays a significant part in our social life. For example, in business area good communication helps to build strong relationship with your partners or employers. Good communication skills are crucial when you have deal with your customers or suppliers. If you want to be a good communicator you should be good listener. When one person is talking some information which can be the most important, for example, the meeting of the president and the minister of finance, another person should concentrate for understanding and getting this information. Also, you should be open – it means that you should be involved in the speech, because if you do not understand something it can be cause of some problems.

According this theory, we can examine the situation. The connection between Judy and Paula was not effective because Judy was not to be involved in what Paula was talking, because she drew attention on what was happening, and it shows that she did not draw attention on what was happening with her partner. As we know, in the communication process there is receiver and there is a sender of the message. So that Paula was absorbed in what was happening in café she did not have the opportunity to get information from Judy. There are two important elements of listening such as eyes and ears were not used effectively. So that, we can say that the process of communication was not effective because of social barrier such as noise.
