Ellen Peel is 90 years old. She lives in the village with her five cats. She is not married, but she loves children. She often thinks about her past. Her father died in the war in 1915. 

Ellen was 12 years old. She started work as a housemaid in London. She worked from 5.00 a.m.  until 9.00 p.m. She cleaned all the rooms before breakfast. She earned 25 pounds a year. She went to Manchester in 1925 and became a teacher of French in 1930. In the 30s she taught French. Now she is a very famous teacher, she writes textbooks and very often goes to France. She has a lot of French friends there.

 5 Someone lights up a cigarette on the underground train. There is a no-smoking sign on the window. What do you say to the person who is smoking?

Sport and a healthy mode of life.

Sport is very important in our life. It is popular among young and old people.                                                           

Many people do morning exercises, jog in the morning, train themselves in clubs, in different sections and take part in sport competitions.                                                             

Other people like sports too, but they only watch sports games, listen to sports news. They prefer reading interesting stories about sportsmen.

But they do not do in for sports. Physical training is an important subject at school. Pupils have got physical training lessons twice a week.

Boys and girls play volleyball and basketball at the lessons. There is a sports ground near our school and school children go in for sports in the open air.                                                            

A lot of different competitions are held at schools, a great number of pupils take part in them. All participants try to get good results and become winners. Sport helps people to keep in good health. If you go in for sports, you have good health and do not catch cold.                                                 

Children and grown-ups must take care of their health and do morning exercises regularly. There are some popular kinds of sports in our country: football, volleyball, hockey, gymnastics, skiing, skating. Athletics is one of the most popular kinds of sports. It includes such kinds of sports as running, jumping and others. Everybody may choose the sport he (or she) is interested in.                                                                          

There are summer and winter sports. My favorite sport is swimming. I go to the swimming pool twice a week. But I prefer to rest by the lake or the river and swim there.                                                                              My friend goes in for boxing. He is a good boxer and he is a brave and courageous boy. His hobby helps him in his every day life                                                                                  

 

Спорт и здоровый образ жизни.

Спорт очень важен  в нашей жизни. Он популярен среди  молодых и пожилых людей.

Много людей делают утренние упражнения, зарядку по утрам, тренируется  в клубах, в различных секциях и участвуют в спортивных соревнованиях.

Другие тоже любят  спорт, но они только смотрят спортивные игры, слушают спортивные новости. Они  предпочитают читать интересные истории  о спортсменах. Но они ничего не делают для спорта.

Занятие физкультурой важный предмет в школе. Уроками физкультуры ученики занимаются дважды в неделю.

На уроках мальчики и  девочки играют в волейбол и баскетбол. Рядом со школой находятся стадионы и ученики занимаются спортом  на открытом воздухе.

Между школами проводятся различные соревнования и многие школьники принимают участие в них. Все участники пытаются достичь высоких результатов и стать победителями. Спорт помогает людям сохранить хорошее здоровье. Если ты занимаешься спортом у тебя будет крепкое здоровье и ты никогда не простудишься.

Дети и подростки  должны следить за своим здоровьем  и регулярно делать утреннюю зарядку. Самые популярные виды спорта в нашей  стране: футбол, волейбол, хоккей, гимнастика, лыжи, коньки. Атлетика – один из самых  популярных видов спорта, он включает в себя такой спорт как бег, прыжки и другое. Каждый может выбрать себе спорт по вкусу и интересам.

Есть зимние и летние виды спорта. Мой любимый спорт  это плаванье. Я хожу в бассейн  два раза в неделю. Но я предпочитаю  отдыхать на озере или реке и плавать там. Мой друг увлекается боксом. Он отличный боксёр и смелый парень.
