Sometimes  tell «the personal computer». Specification  "personal" here not casually is means,  personal, accessible to the majority of  people, after all there is a considerable  quantity of other kinds of computers which  personal not to name in any way –  workstations for the enterprises, servers for  communication of set of computers in a  network, etc. further, telling "computer"  we will mean the personal computer.

In the  modern market of computer facilities a  variety of updatings and variants of computers  hugely, but any, even the most unusual  complete set invariably includes the same  kinds of devices.

Base  configuration of the  PC- the minimum complete set hardware means, sufficient to start work with the computer.

• The system block;
• The monitor;
• The keyboard;
• The mouse.

The  system block– the mainframe of computer system. In it the devices which are considered as the internal settle down. The devices connected to the system block outside, are considered as the external. 

The  monitor – the device  for visual reproduction  of the symbolical and  graphic information. Serves  as the output equipment.  They bear a faint  resemblance to household  TVs.

The  keyboard – the keyboard  device intended for  management by work of  the computer and input  in it of the information.  The information to be  entered in the form  of the alphanumeric  symbolical data.

The  mouse – the device  of "graphic" management.  At mouse moving on  a rug on the screen  the mouse index with  which help it is  possible to specify  in objects moves and-or  to choose them. Using  mouse keys (them can  be two or three)  it is possible to  set this or that  type of operation with  object.

Peripheral  name the devices connected to the computer  from the outside. Normally these devices  are intended for information input and  output.

Here some  of them:

The printer;

The scanner;

The modem;

The Webcam 

The  printer serves for information  output on the paper  carrier (paper).  

There  are three types of  printers:

The  matrix

The  jet

The  laser

Scanners  serve for automatic  input of texts and  a drawing in 

the  computer.  

Scanners  happen two 

types: 

The  manual;

The  tablet.

The  modem or modem board  serves for communication  of remote computers  on a telephone network.  The modem happens internal  (it is installed in  the system unit) and  exterior (is allocated  near to the system  unit and incorporates  to it by means  of a cable.
