Today cinematography is the most popular way of pastime and all of us love to spend time in front of good moving-picture show. Cinematography has been developing in different directions for the last century, but mostly there were two styles of cinematography these are Western and Soviet styles and our purpose is define similarities and differences between Uzbek and American cinematography besides to choose which one is more suitable for us. Cinematography was created in the end of 19th century and moving picture show arose how amazing screen spectacle which combined features of photos, painting and theatres in moving taken from real life and seemed how a miracle.
There are a lot of differences between Uzbek and American cinema. The first difference is film producing. Uzbek cinema has being developed in another way than American cinematography for the last years. For example the Uzbek cinematography was based on Soviet mentality and showed only genre of socialist realism. However American cinematography had more opportunity with choice of genre. The next difference is content of the film of Uzbek and American cinematography. Usually Uzbek film tries to show life of ordinary working man to imagine state of the country which he lives and tries to survive besides to feed his family, but in American cinematography there is just violence, murders and wars. The Uzbek cinema is largely dependent on own country’s government nevertheless American cinema isn’t dependent on the country moreover It had so much freedom that American cinematography could implement whatever it want. The next difference is sponsorship of any films because film making requires some budget for work process. For example, creation of a good and an interesting film require a lot of money to pay actors, to pay for sceneries and special effects. The next differences between Uzbek and American cinema is film companies, because American cinematography has the whole city for making films where there are many different film companies and the name of this city is Hollywood. These are «Paramount Company», «20th
Century Fox», «Universal Company», «Warner Brothers». Uzbekistan hasn’t got so wide opportunities and there is only one film company in the city. It is «UzbekFilm». According to Uzbek’s dependence on own country after independence Uzbek cinematography changed at all, however American cinema hadn’t any influence on its work. For example, Uzbek modern cinematography became based on folklores and national story, nevertheless American genres are still unchanged. In addition, modern Uzbek films show private life of modern people, their world views, their life purposes, relationships and their dreams. The government of Uzbekistan started to invest and promote national cinematography besides the budget for new films pays about six movie-picture shows. The final difference between Uzbek and American cinematography is number of their transition genres where America rises above Uzbekistan. There are so many different genres of American cinematography: comedy, western, musicals, gangster films, war films, horror films, detective and spy films. Uzbeks’ famous films: «Valley of my fathers» - directed by Sh. Abbasov, «Stone idol» and «Iron lady» - directed by I. Ergashev. American famous films: «The birth of the nation» - directed by D. W. Griffith, «Planet of the Apes», «Rocky» with Sylvester Stallone.
However
there are a lot of similarities between Uzbek and American cinematography.
The first similarity is general story of creation, because these two
cinematography were born by innovation of last century. The first moving-picture
was held by brothers Lumiere on 28 December of 1895. The second
similarity is their initial way of development, because the first films
were held without any sounds, because it was silent movie. The next
similarity is that each director when he makes a cinema he is trying
to tell us his idea and the main purpose of his work. The third similarity
is acting schools, because a great film needs great actors. For example,
acting is a very difficult art and before to play in any film every
actor must finished acting school where he study how to show real emotions
and become a good actor. Uzbek and American cinema are similarity in
acting and their real emotion, because each actor wants to reveal his
character completely. The next similarity of Uzbek and American cinematography is great national actors who have contributed greatly to the film industries of their home countries. For example, great Uzbek actors: Adjabov Radjab Halimov, Ahmedov Yakub, Burhanov Shukur. Great American actors: Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Henry Fonda. The final similarity is that cinema contains national traditions and mentality of any country which directors and actors show us every day. For example, Uzbek cinematography reflects the national idea and tries to remember people what is the most important for our country.
In conclusion, cinematography
is the most amazing innovation of humanity, which conveys to us the
beauty of art and it includes work and efforts of many people besides
cinema provides us to the world of our dreams and fantasy, where we
can be anyone we want. Directors want to show us their idea and their
own world view. Cinematography can be different but one thing will be
unchanged that cinematography was created for people and presented them
joy of moving-picture show.
